Where did educational Blogging originate?

To start with I’m delving into the origins of edublogging  - for the purposes of our research project - and so far my searches give lots of useful information but don’t seem to be able to nail relevant dates or persons (for example the wikipedia entry on this is brief!).

So to start with I’ve emailed James Farmer today and asked for his take. Please feel free to add your comments/thoughts/links and Season’s Greetings to all edubloggers!
