Where did educational Blogging originate?

To start with I’m delving into the origins of edublogging  – for the purposes of our research project – and so far my searches give lots of useful information but don’t seem to be able to nail relevant dates or persons (for example the wikipedia entry on this is brief!).

So to start with I’ve emailed James Farmer today and asked for his take. Please feel free to add your comments/thoughts/links and Season’s Greetings to all edubloggers!

This month’s .net magazine (issue 144 christmas 2005) has a really useful overview of Web 2.0 which is a good starting point for further links and research.

(blogger) – a track of music and a brief commentary on it

(bloglines) – details on the blogging @ bu project

(html) – personal blog

(elgg) – blogging overview

(edublog) – this one to be used regarding any blogging relating to IHCS E-learning units,use of podcasting in education, use of wikis in education etc

Edublogs Workshop – King’s College London

Today I am attending the ALT-C Edublogs workshop (the educational use of weblogs, weblogging tools and really simple syndication) at King’s College London.

Running from 10 – 4 this workshop is providing me with a wealth of interesting content and links concerning blogs, Wikis and RSS.
