SL Healthy Wiki

Whilst googling (!) today I was delighted to come across an old Jaiku post saying I’d motivated PF Anderson to create a SL Healthy Wiki. A great idea and obviously she’s been a lot busier with her project than we have with ours recently (!). This is definitely something else to examine in more detail at a later date.

The concept of Wikis used as a portal for pointing to other web information is an idea I’m pursuing with the Patient Journey wiki (also in Wetpaint - snap) and you can find out more about this project or get involved with it here.

Patient Journeys Wiki Initiated

I’ve now begun work on the first of two wikis which will form the basis of my research project. The project aims to investigate the use of wikis as an online social space/environment for patients and practitioners who wish to share personal experiences of healthcare and medical treatment as they embark or have embarked on their “patient journey”.

Patient Journeys Wiki is a place to document existing patient journeys already available on the web. I’ve added some links to some existing resources that include Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, IVF, Cystic Fibrosis and Multiple Sclerosis. If you would like to join this project as a contributor to the wiki or have a link that you feel would add something to this online resource then please get in touch with me.

Online Social Spaces in Healthcare - Patient Journey Wikis

Following on from this years ALT-C workshop Runaway Objects : Preserving Our Digital Belongings I’ve now set up the two wikis which will form the basis of my research project. The project aims to investigate the use of wikis as an online social space/environment for patients who wish to share personal experiences of healthcare and medical treatment as they embark or have embarked on their “patient journey”.

PEXH Wiki - a place for people to document new patient journeys.
